I recommend this product

Absolutely fantastic !

My girlfriend and I live in South Florida, not far from the Atlantic Ocean. Our house has French Doors that allow access to the patio area from the den. The patio and French Doors are on the south side of the house, which means a blisteringly hot time of it in the summer months. This light tan/yellow shade cloth, with grommets was PERFECT for our needs. The 10x12 foot size was purchased. I installed it on three heavy stainless steel hooks, one at each of three corners, lagged into the concrete of the house exterior walls. There is one pressure treated post in a heavy concrete base that supports the remaining corner. There is also a heavy nylon rope (a nice yellow one at that!) that supports the edges of the shade cloth. It may sound tacky, but I used simple high strength "zip ties" to secure the cloth to the rope. All of this may sound a bit hill-billy, but our property is a Certified Wildlife Preserve, and is a mix of a bit of lawn with arrangement of Florida native tall grasses, palmetto and trees. The shade cloth has gone through several hurricanes and near miss hurricanes/tropical storms. Its easy to take down when winds are blowing past about 60mph. Our sun and torrential rains have not killed it. However, after neaerly four years of happy use, tropical storm ETA did damage it, and it was my own fault because I failed to take it down, thinking winds would be fairly light. My bad, live and learn. I had already purchased a "just in case" spare, so after the storm, mission #1 was to get the damage awning replaced, which took about a hour. Both of us are completely happy with the awning material, and the way it fastens with grommets. There was minimal color fade after four years, and ... well... given that track record, I expect at least another four, and probably more years from the current shade cloth. I've got another "spare" on order as this is being written. For about ... forty dollars in rough terms, and a few dollars for a rope and hooks... one cannot cobble together a better piece of shade. I look at it this way: It cost me ten bucks a year. I can live with that!!!!! Many thanks for a great product. The first picture below is right after Hurricane Irma in 2017, so please excuse a few windows boarded still. The rest are current - you can see our little plants have grown tall! And the shade cloth is still doing as well as ever.
